*Broadview Heights Spotlights Seeking Comedic Actor
for Premiere of One-Man Show*

* *

The Broadview Heights Spotlights Community Theater will hold auditions
for the premiere of Matty Sayre’s one-man show, *Managing! A Theatre
Professional’s Journey in (Un)Employment. *The play will be presented as
part of Spotlights’ Cabaret Series on Friday, December 9, and Saturday,
December 10, 2011, at 7:00 PM.

The production will be directed by Matty Sayre, who is seeking a skilled,
comedic actor, age 25 to 40. Auditioners should prepare a brief comedic
monologue and will also read from the script. Please dress comfortably for
movement. Auditions will be held Sunday, November 13, 2011 at 6:00PM at the
Broadview Heights Cultural Arts Building, 9543 Broadview Road (next to the
Police Station).

For more information on the production, including an excerpt from the
script, please visit www.broadview-heights-spotlights.org. Interested
persons may also contact Sayre directly at 203-589- 7088 or

*About the Show*

*Managing! *tells the autobiographical story of Sayre's hopeful and comedic
journey from his career as an operatic stage manager to that of being a
warm body in a cold office. You'll enjoy hearing about the attempts to
leave "show biz" for the security of a "real job." Imagine trying to
convince the interviewer that your University education is, indeed,
valuable. And, once hired, what can you do to keep the job that you know
nothing about? Or the follies of being hired by an employer who doesn't
even want to succeed! *Managing! *is a story demonstrating the
ridiculousness of reality and how it can make for great entertainment.
Forget your (un)employment stresses for one night and laugh at someone
else's!

*About the Spotlights
*The Broadview Heights Spotlights is a non-profit (501c) corporation that
was founded in June of 1998 to create a unique, intergenerational theater
that would work closely with the City of Broadview Heights to its events
and foster a new awareness of and opportunities in the performing arts for
the community. In November, 2003, the City Council passed an ordinance
granting a long-term, low-cost lease of a building on the Broadview Center
campus. The building, a former medical group home, was renovated by
volunteers and houses the Spotlights’ Main Stage theater season, Cabaret
Season, educational classes, and special events.
