Based on Carl Sternheim's classic 1910 German farce, Steve Martin's adapation tells the story of Theobald Maske, a bourgeois Berliner whose wife's underpants just don't seem to be able to stay up. The Underpants is a ribald and hilarious tale of the conflict between prudery and lust that challenges us to examine what's really important in life.
