*Announces Holiday Weekend Opening of*

*Winter Wonderettes*



Actors’ Summit, Akron’s Equity professional theater, opens its holiday
show, *Winter Wonderettes, **on Wednesday, November 23rd, *the day before
Thanksgiving.  There is no performance on Thanksgiving, but performances
resume on Friday.  *Winter Wonderettes* is the story of four young women
who formed a vocal group in high school.  It’s now ten years later and
they’re back together.  It is now 1968 and the occasion for the reunion is
a Christmas party concert to try to save the hardware store. The play will
have a five week run at Greystone Hall in downtown Akron from November 23
through December 23.



*Winter Wonderettes* is a sequel to the Marvelous Wonderettes which was
produced earlier this season at Beck Center for The Arts.  Originally
produced by the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, the show has been performed to
enthusiastic audiences from coast to coast.  LA Weekly said: “The perfect
Christmas revue!  Crackles with energy and joy!”  Backstage said: “A
Scrumptious confection!  This glittering holiday package is a sugar plum
delight for audiences of all ages!”



*The Cast *

The cast features three Actors’ Summit veterans and one newcomer.  In
keeping with the mission of Actors’ Summit, all four actors are Ohio
artists.

*Aubrey Caldwell* returns after making her Actors’ Summit debut this summer
in *Five Course Love*!  Aubrey is a member of Actors’ Equity.  She earned
her BA in Theatre from Ashland University and her MFA in Acting from the
Asolo Conservatory, Florida State University.



*Laura Cook* is a member of Actors’ Equity and a graduate of Kent State
with an MFA in Acting.  She has performed professionally all over the
country and was most recently seen as the Female Authority Figure in *
Hairspray* at Merry Go Round Playhouse.

*Shani Ferry *returns to Actors' Summit where she most recently appeared
in last season's *Romantic Fools *and* A Murder, A Mystery, and A Marriage.
*Other Actors' Summit shows she has performed in include *Last Train to
Nibroc *and *Are We There Yet? *

*Beth Jones* originally from Canton, has spent most of her acting career in
Florida.  She will be making her Ohio return at Actors’ Summit.  At Walt
Disney World she performed in *Playhouse Disney Live On Stage*, *Mickey’s
Twas The Night Before Christmas*.  At Orlando Repertory Theater she
appeared in *Pippi Longstocking* and *How I Became A Pirate.*

*The Directors*

*MaryJo Alexander *is directing* Winter Wonderettes.  *She is a member of
Actors’ Equity and Co-Artistic Director of Actors’ Summit.  For the
company, MaryJo has directed *Some Enchanted Evening, Born Yesterday,
Sleuth, Private Lives, Crimes of the Heart, Don’t Hug Me, Quilters, A
Child’s Christmas in Wales *and* The All Night Strut *among* *others.



As musical director* Michael Anderson *returns to Actors Summit having just
provided musical direction for the critically acclaimed *Woody Guthrie’s
American Song.* Also at Actors’ Summit he has music directed *Five Course
Love*, *Some Enchanted Evening* and the cabaret show *Wine, Women & Song*.
Michael has been playing piano for over twenty-five years, accompanying
soloists, ensembles and choirs.



*Ticket Prices*



Individual ticket prices range from $19 at preview performances and
Saturday matinees to $30 for Friday and Saturday evenings.  All full time
students with ID can attend any performance for $9.



Good-Time-Any-Time Coupons are $260 for 10 admissions and season
subscriptions starting at $86 for six shows are still available.
