                                     Victorian To Hold
                                    Annual Fund Raiser

The Victorian Players will hold their annual fund raiser, “Vaudeville at the Vic,” on Friday and Saturday, January 20th and 21st at the Victorian Players Theatre at 702 Mahoning Avenue in Youngstown.  Both performances will begin at 7:30 pm. with ticket prices being $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for students and seniors.

The fund raiser this year will be very similar to the one last year with music, madness, silliness and flying ping pong balls.  Scheduled to perform this year is professional jazz singer, Barbara Knight.  Ms. Knight was recently chosen by L.A. jazz critic Scott Yanow as one of the top 521 jazz singers of all time.   She started singing professionally in 1980 with the Harry Hershey Orchestra.  During the 13 years she spent with that band she was the  featured vocalist in the hit show “Stompin’ at the State,” which ran for almost two years at Cleveland’s State Theatre.  She followed that with a nine month run of “Stompin’ at La Ronde” at the Fountainebleu Hilton in Miami.  In addition to the Hershey Orchestra she has also sung with The Nelson Riddle Orchestra and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.

Also appearing for a return engagement will be local magician, Matt Stevens.  Stevens wowed the crowd last year with some truly amazing illusions.  Other acts include Craig and Liz Conrad, the cast of the Spotlight Players production of “Next to Normal,” Gerri Jenkins-Sullivan, Rob Joki of the Rust Belt Theater Company, Jenna Cintavey, Tom Smith, Chloe Housteau, and many more surprises yet to be announced.

Based on ticket sales from last year, reservations are strongly suggested.  Reservations can be made by calling the Victorian Players reservation line at 330-746-5455.
