Hathaway Brown School AUDITIONS for
HAY FEVER by Noel Coward
Directed by Molly Cornwell
Scenic Design by Rob Peck
January 30 and 31 - 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
A Sophisticated.Witty Comedy
Synopsis: Hay Fever is set in the early 1920's at the BlIss family's
English country home. The comedy focuses on the hospitality (or rather,
non-hospitality) that the Bliss's show their weekend guests. Coward himself
observed that Hay Fever has ''no plot at all and remarkably little action.
Its general effectiveness therefore depends on expert technique from each
and every member of the cast.'' This is a character-driven play.
The eccentric Blisses-Judith, a recently retired stage actress, David, a
self-absorbed novelist, and their two equally unconventional children, Sorel
and Simon- live in a world where reality slides easily into fiction.
Needed: Four Male actors
David, the father
Simon, the son
Richard Greatham, a diplomatist
Sandy Terell, an athletic young man
Hay Fever runs May 25 and 26. Rehearsals will begin Feb. 27. Rehearsals
are Monday thru Friday 3:45 to 6:30 pm.
