If you have child in 9-12 grades interested in Music Theatre, consider signing them up for our
Music Theatre Weekend Intensives.
Each intensive focuses on a different aspect of Music Theatre and will provide your children with a deeper look into this exciting field, taught by Broadway veteran Dominic Roberts.
Triple Threat Music Theatre Weekend Intensives
Grades 9 - 12
Broadway veteran Dominic Roberts will lead weekend music theatre workshops for advanced high school music theatre performers. Each intensive focuses on a different aspect music theatre in order to build and expand on the following: performing music theatre solos; music theatre ensemble performing; and music theatre audition preparation.
Broadway performer and B-W alumnus Dominic Roberts, original cast member of the Broadway production of Mary Poppins will be directing the Triple Threat Music Theatre Weekend Intensives. During his time in Mary Poppins, Roberts held several ensemble roles and was the under study for the character Bert.  He also played Bert during the Broadway tour of the show.  Roberts is part of the Mary Poppins original cast recording and performed on the 2007 Tony Awards.   He received a Bachelor's of Music in Music Theatre degree from Baldwin-Wallace College in 2004 and now lives in New York City.

Spring 2012 Schedule

Audition Workshop
Become better prepared for auditions by learning the secrets of perfecting your presentational skills during this weekend intensive. From walking in the door with the right attitude and energy, to picking out a good 16-bar cut and presenting a professional headshot and resume, this class will teach you everything you need to know to give a confident audition. Students must come prepared and have two memorized contrasting short songs, no less than four other 16-bar cuts from musical theatre that showcase their skills and a headshot and resume if available.

February- 18 & 19
Saturday: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm (lunch provided)
Sunday: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Location: John Patrick Theater, Kleist Center for Art and Drama

Music Theatre Ensemble Performing
Study proper vocal technique in a choral setting while learning one of the most important parts of being a musical theatre performer- ensemble singing! Come and sing incredible ensemble music from your favorite Broadway shows while focusing on technique, style, musicianship and interpreting the music and text at this two day class.

March- 24 & 25
Saturday: 10:00am - 4:00 pm (lunch provided)
Sunday: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Location: Allman Theatre, Kleist Center for Art and Drama


Cost: $150 per weekend intensive or $250 for both, plus a $15 registration fee.
