[NEohioPAL] URGENT CASTING CALL FOR 3 WOMEN IN THEIR MID-50s (2 African American)

Nate Merritt is a sophomore Communication Arts- Film major at Malone University and he would love you to help with his film Welcome to the Mind of Calpurnia T. Jones! Welcome to the Mind of Calpurnia T. Jones is a short film loosely inspired by the writer/director's aunt's experience with online dating, Fassbinder's "Ali: Fear Eats the Soul" and "An Unmarried Woman." Calpurnia Jones, is 54 years old. Her husband of thirty years, Max unexpectedly left her and moved in with a Jimmy John's delivery girl. Newly alone, Calpurnia decides to start her life completely over, first by removing the oppressive weave her husband convinced her to have sewn in in 1984, then by joining an online dating site. After being subjected to various weirdoes who prowl the internet searching for love, Callie finally meets an interesting man, but he's not exactly who he claims to be. The film is an exploration of one woman's search for identity and the perils of online dating.
 Because of our lack of budget, this is a passion project and the acting will be on a pro-bono basis. Of course, food will be provided on-set and anyone acting will be allowed to use footage for their reel. Filming will take place in the Canton area in March. We will gladly send a copy of the script upon request, and film reels will be accepted in place of auditions. The film will be submitted to the Malone University Open Frame Film Festival, which will take place at the Canton Palace Theatre later this spring. Cast: Calpurnia Jones is a recently divorced Black woman in her early-mid 50s. She is the founder of a small environmental consultant agency. She is an independent woman and she is looking to start her life completely over.  

Maura Lind is a red-haired non-practicing Jew in her mid-late 50s. She works in advertising. Maura has a spit-fire personality and has been married four times. She convinces Calpurnia to join matchmaker.com in search of love. 

Tina Brooks is in her early-mid 50s. She is Black and has natural hair. She is a vegan and lives with her partner of thirty years, Karin. Tina owns an art gallery and is frequently the voice of reason in their group of friends.
