Brecksville United Methodist Church (BUMC), in conjunction with the
Brecksville Center for the Arts (BCA), is proud to announce a singing of
Messiah, Parts II and III, on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at 4:00pm in the
Sanctuary of Brecksville UMC, in Brecksville, Ohio. The BCA Community Chorus
will lead the singing; scores will also be available at the door and all
singers are welcome to participate or simply listen. The work will be
accompanied by organ and professional chamber orchestra, under the direction
of Joy Fenton, Director of Music at BUMC and Associate Director of the BCA
Community Chorus. This event is free and open to the public; a free-will
offering basket will be available.
Open auditions are being held for all soprano, tenor, and bass solos in
Parts II and III of Messiah. Please read below for the complete solo
listing. Auditions will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, March 6
and 7, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the Sanctuary at Brecksville United Methodist
Church. [65 Public Square, Brecksville, Ohio 44141.] Auditions will be by
appointment. Those interested should come prepared to sing their movement(s)
of interest from Messiah. No additional material will be required at this
time. It is recommended, though not required, that brief recitatives be
paired with the aria that immediately follows, wherever applicable. Contact
