2012 Season Auditions

 

 

Shows:

A Midsummer Night's Dream, running July 5 - July 22
The Merchant of Venice, running August 2 - August 19

directed by Artistic Director Terry Burgler

 

When the Auditions are:

First Round Auditions by appointment, Friday, March 9, beginning at 5pm at
Coach House Theatre, 732 W. Exchange St., Akron, OH 44302, at the corner of
N. Portage Path and W. Exchange St., (sharing a parking lot with the Akron
Woman's City Club and the First Grace United Church of Christ, with the big
lighted signboard)

 

What you need to do:

Please come prepared to read a short classical scene of your choosing
(reader provided), or perform 1 or 2 classical monologues no more than three
minutes in total length. 

 

Money:

All performers paid a fee.  Limited Special Performances AEA contracts
available.

 

Schedule:

Performances: Thursday through Sunday nights at 8:00pm

Rehearsals: Tuesday-Friday evenings, Saturday & Sunday afternoons and/or
evenings, Mondays off.  The entire company is assumed to be called to every
rehearsal, although the cast will be informed of the exact scenes to be
worked, and the staggered call times, if any, the night before the next
rehearsal.

 

A Midsummer Night's Dream begins rehearsal on or about June 5

The Merchant of Venice begins rehearsal on or about July 7

 

What do I need to do?

Please respond to this posting (NancyCates at ohioshakespeare.com) with a
preference of audition time(s), and we will try our best to accommodate your
schedule, particularly those with shows on Friday night.  There will be a
second round of auditions (date not set), so please let us know if you wish
to be contacted for those.  

 

Do OSF company members need to come?

Company members who have performed with OSF in recent seasons do not need to
come to this first round of auditions, but are welcome to do so if they
wish.  (If you performed with us 11 years ago, go ahead and come!)  Please
email your interest for consideration, however.
