ABOUT THE SHOW
In collaboration with Baldwin-Wallace College Music Theatre Program, the Beck Center for the Arts presents the Tony Award-winning rock musical, Spring Awakening, now through March 4, 2012 on the Mackey Main Stage. Show times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.

Based on the controversial 19th century German play by Frank Wedekind, Spring Awakening explores with passion and poignancy the turbulent journey from adolescence to adulthood. This landmark musical swept the 2007 Tony Awards winning eight out of its eleven nominations, including Best Musical and Best Score. Spring Awakening is an exhilarating mix of morality, sexuality, and rock & roll including hard-hitting songs like "Mama Who Bore Me," "My Junk," "The B**** of Living," and "Totally F***ed."

"Spring Awakening rocks Beck stage...thrilling audiences, including this reviewer...I didn't want to see it end."
~ Fran Heller, Cleveland Jewish News<http://www.clevelandjewishnews.com/features/leisure/arts/>

"The entire ensemble is phenomenal...Everyone on stage has a voice and presence as powerful as they are expressive...just as professional and passionate as the national Broadway tour...Maybe even more so." ~ Bob Abelman, News-Herald<http://www.news-herald.com/articles/2012/02/07/life/doc4f31600912dd9022935799.txt>

"Powerful, thoughtful and atypical take on teen angst...gut-wrenchingly honest, raw and real" ~ Chuck Yarborough, Plain Dealer<http://www.cleveland.com/arts/index.ssf/2012/02/spring_awakening_at_beck_cente.html>

"The kids are getting it on in Beck's sublime Spring Awakening...a throbbing, pulsating jewel of theatrical passion... performers display a raw vulnerability that wasn't as well expressed in the touring Broadway production...as polished and sure-footed as any in recent memory. And that alone should be enough to give any theatergoer a chubby."
~ Christine Howey, Scene<http://www.clevescene.com/cleveland/coming-attractions/Content?oid=2818995>

"One of the finest theatrical works you may ever see..as good as the professional shows I saw on Broadway and on-tour...an emotionally stirring, relevant, and well staged production...a must see presentation. Bravo!" ~ Roy Berko, The Times<http://www.royberko.info/>
