[NEohioPAL] 'HAIRSPRAY' auditions announced by Lorain Community Music Theater

Lorain Community Music Theaterwill hold auditions for
‘Hairspray’March 24, 25, 31 and April 1, 2012  

We are looking for a multi-ethnic cast of approximately 45
people, ranging in age from 16 to adult. 
There is one young female teen role, who should appear to be about 13
years of age.  All roles are open,
and there are no equity contracts for this production.  A complete list of roles can be viewed

Registration is at 12:30 pm, with auditions beginning
promptly at 1:00 p.m.Be prepared
to stay for the duration of the audition.

 

Prepare a vocal selection (a Broadway ‘standard’ NOT from the
show), and bring your sheet music in the proper key, as an accompanist will be
provided.  Auditions will not be
permitted in acapella format, nor with any electronic accompaniment.  A brief comic monologue should be
prepared.  A dance sequence will be
taught and auditioned, so dress for movement.  Callbacks will be held after April 1st, and
candidates will be contacted individually.

 

Auditions will be held at St. Peter School, 3601 Oberlin
Ave., Lorain, OH  44053, in the

Performances dates are July 27, 28,
August 3, 4 at 7:30 p.m. and August 5 at 2:00 p.m.,at the Stocker Arts Center
