MARY POPPINS
>From Page to Onstage for Ages 6-10
Through an investigation of sets, costumes, props and lights, students explore their imagination while inventing new worlds and characters. Through theatre games and acting exercises, we will focus on freeing the creative spirit of each child while building a dynamic ensemble of actors.

SHREK
Playwriting for Ages 6-10
Have you ever wondered what would happen if Optimus Prime and Annie met in Cinderella’s Castle? Or if one of the seven dwarves had your favorite desert as a dinner guest? In this fast-paced workshop, students will have the opportunity to create their own mix-ups of characters and locations as they stretch their imagination to the limit by pulling pieces from their favorite stories, songs, even foods and creating their own original 10-minute play with those pieces. This class is great for students who are constantly acting out their favorite super heroes or television show characters as well as those students who are always asking “What if…”

FOOTLOOSE
Broadway Dance Sampler for Ages 8-12
This class introduces students to the basic elements and terminology of ballet, tap and musical theatre dance. Students work to connect with their minds, bodies and imaginations in the creation of theatre. Material will be drawn from age appropriate Broadway musicals.

INTO THE WOODS
Fundamentals of Acting for Ages 8-12
Learn basic acting skills while inventing your own stories based on fairy and folk tales. Working with theatre games and activities, students learn to express themselves while learning basic theatre terminology, exploring character development, active listening, problem-solving, refining motor skills and ensemble technique.

AVENUE Q
Performing Puppets for Ages 10-16
It’s time to explore the wonderful world of puppetry! Create stories with hand puppets, shadow puppets, marionettes and more. This is also a creation class where you will design and build your own puppet to keep! We start with foam and other craft materials to bring to life your own puppet and create the story you want to tell. Develop skills focused on character, physical movement and vocal characterization while building stories throughout the session. Family and friends will enjoy a sharing of our puppet tales at the final class.

THE LITTLE MERMAID
Sing Disney for Ages 10-14 
A class for students who want to perform! Work with your favorite Disney and Broadway songs to learn the fundamentals of singing. Create and explore characters through classic musical moments and scenes. We'll focus on imagination, coordination, body and vocal awareness.  You will strengthen your understanding and vocal proficiency as you learn more favorite Disney and Broadway musical numbers. Focus on fundamentals of acting-stage movement-character development and motivation while rehearsing a play specifically created for young performers. Students must be comfortable with the memorization of lines

WIZARD OF OZ MEETS WICKED (by audition only)
Advanced Musical Theatre for Ages 13-18 
Hone your skills and strengthen the techniques needed to succeed in the highly competitive world of musical theatre. Using both contemporary and classic Broadway material, students will be taught healthy vocal/singing production, dance combinations and deepen their understanding of character development while learning to seamlessly combine these disciplines. Audition preparation for musicals will be included. Join us as we explore genres from contemporary edgy material like Sondheim to traditional musicals like Guys and Dolls. Advanced beginners and experienced students welcome.

Advanced Broadway Dance for Ages 13-18
 
Do you have dreams of Fame - of winning that perfect audition where you get the chance of your lifetime? Be part of a group of vibrant, courageous energetic young people who gather to audition to get that chance at New York City's High School of Performing Arts. Work with the brilliance of Michael Bennett- recreating some of the classic musical numbers from A CHORUS LINE (the definitive and stunning show about an audition for a Broadway musical) and FAME!

FORBIDDEN BROADWAY
Improv for Ages 12-18
Think fast! Or, better yet, don't think! Quick fun games, designed to build confidence, help you make strong character choices, trust your instincts and work well with others. Down and dirty fun work, good for both beginning and experienced performers.

The 12-Hour Play Project** 
Ages 12-18
In one whirlwind day brave student artists will acquire and utilize the tools to rapidly create and stage a brand new piece of theatre. All students participate in the writing and creation process and step into the roles of director, actor, designer, composer, choreographer and dramaturge. Experience the exhilaration of creating and collaborating a new play in a rapid fire process. Not for the faint of heart. This is the theatrical process on serious amounts of caffeine. Let’s make art.
