[NEohioPAL] My gumption is up

I am responding to Jared McGrath's latest post.
As a proud Equity member for over 39 years I am appalled to hear there
might be union members doing scab work in Cleveland. If such a thing is
occurring it should be brought to the union's attention, perhaps
anonymously, so punitive measures could be applied, or at least a warning to
the actor and theatre to prevent it happening again.
I happen to know a lot of very talented community theatre artists who could
do the work more honestly since they wouldn't be harboring a secret while
performing.
My work here has only been under union contracts which is why I don't get a
chance to work as much as I'd like. Most shows that have agreements with
Actors' Equity only offer one or two contracts per show, unless you're in
downtown Cleveland.
I'm hoping someone will reopen Carousel Dinner Theatre, or the new casino
will offer union entertainment to draw in customers. Actors live in a
fantasy world.
Thanks for this forum, Fred and Noel, and God bless you all.
Love,
Leslie Feagan
