The Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory of Music introduces summer music opportunities for the Music Professional!

Let the world's top Wagner teachers, coaches and conductors help launch your career into the Wagnerian repertoire. Join renowned opera singers and teachers Jane Eaglen<http://www.bw.edu/academics/conservatory/people/voice/eaglen/> and Timothy Mussard<http://www.bw.edu/academics/conservatory/people/voice/mussard/> and much sought-after coach/conductors Eric Weimer and William Vendice for eight days of intensive training. The curriculum includes private lessons, repertoire coaching, scene study, German language study, staging rehearsals, and master classes with final performances on Saturday, July 30. Mature singers who are exploring the Wagnerian repertoire are encouraged to submit audition materials.

The Wagner Intensive requires an audition. Application deadline is April 1, 2012. Applications and audition information are available online.

Institute for Music Teaching and Learning<http://www.bw.edu/academics/conservatory/outreach/profdevelopment/> - throughout June and August, 2012
Providing high-quality professional development for music educators in workshops coordinated with Ohio Standards and contextualized for the music educator.  Offered in one-day, one-week, and two-week formats, 2012 courses include: Music Technology, Orff-Schulwerk Teacher Training, String Methods and new 1-day mini courses, Music Education-ONLINE! and Using i-Technology to Support and Enhance Instruction in the Music Classroom.

Summer Music Camps for students in grades 4 - 9:

String Camp<http://www.bw.edu/academics/conservatory/outreach/smp/stringcamps/> - Saturday, June 16 through Thursday, June 21, 2012
Violin, viola, cello and bass students will have an opportunity to play in one of 5 orchestras, chamber music ensembles, and sectionals with other students from across the state, and beyond.

Piano Camp<http://www.bw.edu/academics/conservatory/outreach/smp/pianocamp/> - Saturday, June 16 through Thursday, June 21, 2012
Calling all piano students in grades 4 - 9 who have studied piano for at least 9 months!  Piano Camp students will receive four 20-minute private lessons and have daily supervised practice sessions.  In addition, piano students will participate in piano duet, music theory and music elective classes taught by B-W Conservatory faculty.



Band Camp<http://www.bw.edu/academics/conservatory/outreach/smp/bandcamp/> - Saturday, June 23 through Thursday, June 28, 2012
Students who play woodwind, brass or percussion instruments are invited to join instrumentalists from across the state for a week of music and fun.  Band camp offers the opportunity to play in one of three bands, jazz ensemble, chamber music and sectionals.

Students who would like to enhance their singing, acting and movement skills should check out Music Theatre Camp!  Group classes, as well as music theatre workshops and master classes with guest artists will be a part of this fun filled week.

All of the camps for students in grades 4 - 9 include daily social and recreational activities. Campers have the option to stay on campus, or commute for the week. The application deadline is May 1, 2012. Applications are available online.

Summer Music Institute<http://www.bw.edu/academics/conservatory/outreach/smp/smi/> - Sunday, July 8 through Saturday, July 21, 2012
Two-week program for serious high school musicians with concentrated attention given to solo and chamber music performance.  Faculty and guest artists include members of the Cleveland Orchestra, Cavani String Quartet and B-W Conservatory of Music.

Music Theatre Overtures<http://www.bw.edu/academics/conservatory/outreach/smp/mth/> - Sunday, July 22 through Friday, July 27, 2012
Fifteen hand-chosen high school juniors will join Victoria Bussert, director of B-W's nationally recognized Music Theatre program, for an intensive week of preparation for college music theatre auditions including: private voice lessons, daily workshop, monologue, and dance classes.

High school camps require an audition. Application deadline is April 1, 2012. Applications and audition information are available online.


LESSONS and CLASSES:

Private lesson<http://www.bw.edu/academics/conservatory/outreach/prep/lessons/> teachers of all instruments, including voice, are available to teach beginners to experienced musicians. We offer continuous enrollment. Call today to for your private lesson recommendation!
