Tyler Davidson will discuss his 14-year roller coaster ride in the independent film business. 
 

Movie producer Tyler Davidson will speak at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 2nd at the River St. Playhouse, 56 River Street; part of the "Hear Who's Here" speaker series, held at the Chagrin Valley Little Theatre’s campus in Chagrin Falls Village.

All ticket proceeds from this event will be donated to the Chagrin Valley Little Theatre.
 

Davidson is the co-founder and president of Low Spark Films, and an award-winning film producer who, in 2011, was named one of Variety magazine’s “10 Producers to Watch.”
 
 His acclaimed new film Compliance, written and directed by Craig Zobel, premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and will be released by Magnolia Pictures this year. 
 

Davidson previously produced Take Shelter, written and directed by Jeff Nichols, and starring Academy Award Nominees Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain. Take Shelter premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, and won the 50th Critics’ Week Grand Prix at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. The Sony Pictures Classics release was also nominated for an industry-leading five Film Independent Spirit Awards including Best Picture (2011) and named one of the Top 10 Independent Films of the Year (2011) by The National Board of Review of Motion Pictures. 
 

Davidson’s other producing credits include: The Year That Trembled, for which he received the Midwest Independent Filmmaker of the Year Award at the 2002 Cleveland International Film Festival; IFC Films release Swedish Auto; and Toy’s House, currently in pre-production. 
A northeast Ohio native and Chagrin Falls High School graduate, Davidson was named one of Cleveland Magazine’s “Most Interesting People 2012.”
