[NEohioPAL] Spring Hill to hold auditions for Underground Railroad Experience

Spring Hill Historic Home will be holding auditions for its annual
Underground Railroad theatrical production. We are seeking actors, singers
and extras. The production is a dramatic, exciting, first-person event set
in the early 19th century. Be a part of history!



Available Roles:

(for speaking roles)

· an African-American adult female

· an African-American adult male

· an African-American teen or adult, male or female

· a Caucasian female age 25-50


(for non-speaking roles)

· African-American a cappella gospel/spiritual singers (teen or adult)

· African-American children ages 10-15

· Extras are needed in costume


Auditions: Thursday, April 5 at 6:30pm

Spring Hill Historic Home, 1401 Spring Hill Lane NE, Massillon

Singers should prepare an acappella song.



Call-ahead for an audition time is highly encouraged, but not required.

Performance: Saturday, June 16

Requirements: Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time


Spring Hill's annual *Underground Railroad Experience* will be held on
Saturday, June 16 as part of Juneteenth, a holiday started in 1865 to
celebrate the end of slavery in America.  Participants will tour Spring
Hill grounds as if they are escaped slaves. Costumed interpreters will tell
the story of slavery, the Underground Railroad, and Spring Hill's
participation in assisting slaves escape to freedom.
