CAMEO Proudly Announces Auditions for Little Women the Musical

July 27, 28, 29, August 2, 3, 4, 5

Little Women the Musical- Based on Louisa May Alcott’s classic semi-autobiographical novel, follows the adventures of Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy March as they grow up in Civil War America....

Auditions will take place on Saturday, April 28th from 12-6pm, Sunday, April 29th from 2-6pm, and Saturday, May 12th from 12-6pm at the Medina Performing Arts Center. Callbacks will be held on Monday, May 14th from 7-9pm at the same location. If you have questions, or are unable to attend auditions and would like to, please email CameoLittleWomen at gmail.com.

Prepare 16-32 bars of a contemporary musical theatre piece. Please bring your resume, headshot, and music clearly marked as an accompanist will be provided. A cappella auditions are discouraged. You will not be asked to dance.

Rehearsals will begin June 10th and the show runs through August 5th, and will take place Sunday thru Thursday. Please bring a complete list of conflicts during the rehearsal period at the time of auditions.

Roles Available:
Jo March (Mezzo, 18-25): A passionate aspiring writer. This is the story of her journey. She is a strong willed tomboy yearning to write great books in order to help her family.
Meg March* (Soprano, 18-27): The eldest and most romantic March sister.
Beth March* (Soprano, 16-22): The kind, peace-making, piano-playing March sister.
Amy March* (Soprano, 16-22): The youngest March sister, who yearns to enhance her social status. Actor must be able to play both Amy as a young girl and in her early 20’s.
Marmee* (Alto, 40-60): Mother to Meg, Jo, Amy, and Beth. A compassionate woman dealing with raising four young women while her husband is fighting for the Union Army.
Aunt March (Mezzo, 40-60): The larger-than-life, pretentious, crotchety, and difficult matriarch of the March family.
Laurie* (Tenor, 18-25): The boy-next-door who grows up with the March sisters and eventually becomes a part of their tribe.
Mr. John Brooke* (Baritone, 20-30): Laurie’s tutor who falls madly in love with Meg.
Mr. Laurence* (Baritone, 50-70): Laurie’s strict grandfather.
Professor Bhaer (Baritone, 35- 45): A German professor who serves as Jo’s mentor and eventual love interest
Mrs. Kirk (Mezzo, 40-60): Owner of the boarding house where Jo does much of her writing.
*Actors may be double cast as characters in Jo’s Operatic Tragedy.
