Magical TheatreCompany Announces Summer Theatre Camps for Kids

Magical Theatre Company, aprofessional resident and touring theatre for young audiences in, announces two summer theatre camps for kids: one day camp and oneovernight camp. Continuing its highly successful K.I.D. Camp(Kids In Drama) for a 17th year, Magical Theatre Co. is alsocontinuing its collaboration with Cuyahoga National Valley Park Association fora weeklong overnight camp.
 
K.I.D. Camp
K.I.D. Camp seeks tointroduce and develop performing skills in young people through age-appropriateclasses is acting, singing, and dancing. Classes are balanced with rehearsals,so that students can apply concepts learned in their class to their workonstage, culminating in a final performance. The camp is staffed byprofessional actors, directors, choreographers and musicians, all with teachingexperience and devoted to young people. The camp is directed by Co-ProducingDirectors Holly Barkdoll and Dennis O’Connell, musical direction by Marge Adler, choreography by Kimberly Crislip Payne.
Dates:              July 16 - 27, 2012 
Ages:               7 – 17 (as of July 9, 2012)
Location:         Barberton High School, 555 Barber Rd., Barberton 44203
Times:              9:00am – 4:05 pm (Drop-off as early as 8:00am. Pick-upas late as 5:00pm)
Fee:                 $395 per camper
 
Theatre Camp at Conservancy for CuyahogaValley National Park
MagicalTheatre Company and the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park team up foranother fabulous week of overnight theatre camp! Campers develop theirperforming arts skills in acting, voice, movement and, most fun of all, stagecombat. Classes are balanced with rehearsals so that children can apply newskills to real performances. Campers will perform scenes from classic plays andfilms that utilize the outdoors as a stage. These site-specific scenes incorporatethe natural environment around the Environmental Education Center, culminating ina roving performance through the park.

Dates:  June 10 – 15, 2012 (overnight camp)
Ages:   Entering Grades 4-10. 
Fee:      $425 for overnight campers, $325 for day campers
