*THE NORMAL HEART*

*Ensemble Theatre* announces auditions for the opening production of its 33
rd Season.

Ensemble is proud to present Larry Kramer’s landmark play *THE NORMAL HEART,
*fresh from a Tony Award winning revival on Broadway. Written in 1985, *THE
NORMAL HEART* chronicles the fear and frustration of the early days of the
AIDS crisis in New York City, 1981-1984, and the dawn of a powerful
activist movement. The play is based on Kramer’s own personal journey as
he battled an apathetic media, government, and medical bureaucracy.

*
*

*THE NORMAL HEART* is a fierce, poignant, and often funny, play about the
rapid spread of a mysterious, fatal disease and how it personally touches
each character and challenges their identities, relationships, and
lifestyles. For audiences seeing this play in 2012 it will be an
eye-opening history lesson for many; for others it will be a touching
reminder of past struggles and personal loss. We hope it will also be a
timely opportunity to learn more about new research, recommit to a finding
a cure, and open a dialogue on many related current issues.

*
*

*Director Sarah May* is seeking a committed and brave ensemble of actors to
bring this amazing play to life.

The cast calls for 8 men and 1 woman.

Auditions are open to Equity and Non-Equity actors who are eager to be part
of a project.
