*What a way to start the final quarter of our 82nd season! *

In May, the Chagrin Valley Little Theatre Women's Committee
<http://www.cvlt.org/volunteering.php?utm_source=monthlymail&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=june2012>
generously donated $10,000 to support and spur on the Theatre's Capital
Campaign. The donation was earmarked for the plan to connect CVLT's main
building with the adjacent 'red barn' at 38 River Street so that we can
expand the lobby and reception areas and prepare for more handicap
access. The Women's Committee is an independent organization that raises
money for CVLT through events like the /Holiday Gingerbread Tea/,
/Ghosts Goblins & Gobbledygook/, and the upcoming *Salad Luncheon Buffet
<http://cvlt.org/82ndSeason/saladluncheon.php?utm_source=monthlymail&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=june2012>*.

CVLT also basked in the presence of an international couple at the May
12 performance of *The Mikado* by the Chagrin Falls Studio Orchestra
<http://www.chagrinfallsstudioorchestra.org>. A businessman from
Australia doing work with a Cleveland company attended the performance
with his wife after having dinner next door at Gamekeeper's and staying
overnight at the Inn of Chagrin. Not a bad idea for others seeking
quality entertainment, dining and accommodations!

*HAIRSPRAY
<http://www.cvlt.org/82ndSeason/hairspray.php?utm_source=monthlymail&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=june2012%27>*
(July 20-August 18) was the focus of CVLT's float in this year's Chagrin
Falls Blossom Parade, supported by an array of actors and friends; our
Youth Theatre, the CVLT Women's Committee, and banner bearers Kourtney
Highland and Don Bernardo braved a brief shower to show off CVLT's
summer productions. Ed and Julia Wolff designed the float along with the
help of Candy Clemson and Andrew Rothman.

CVLT also encourages friends of the Theatre to see the Chagrin Falls
Historical Society production of the Souls of the Village: Chagrin Falls
in the Civil War <http://www.chagrinacademy.org/> at the Chagrin Falls
Performing Arts Center on June 8 & 9. Our own Julia Kolibab is co-author
and director of this must-see production.

See you soon,
/Your Friends at CVLT/

Set in a getaway on the French Riviera, /A NIGHT IN PROVENCE/ is a
comedy of manners which appeared to rave reviews in the UK and Germany.

English couple Fred and Judy (Jerry Schaber and Sue Cohen), French
couple Maurice and Yvette (Adam Young and Natalie Dolezal), and Irish
couple Shaun and Moira (Scott Hommel and Erika Hansen) are all set for a
weekend of sun, sea, haute cuisine and romance when they find themselves
triple-booked!

As if their cultural differences weren't enough to spark comedy, the
unlikely sextet happen to have plenty of sparkling champagne on hand to
loosen both tongues and inhibitions. Will their marriages survive the
day, the night, and the moonlit swimming pool on the terrace?

A dark drama by Keith Huff focusing on two policemen who inadvertently
hand over a young boy to a Dahmer-esque serial killer and find their
lifelong friendship threatened as they try to place the blame.

The original Broadway production of this gripping story starred Hugh
Jackman and Daniel Craig. Now, CVLT's intimate River Street Playhouse
brings actors Chris Crimaldi and Tim Walsh into the roles of these two
troubled cops in a difficult situation, both on and off their beat.

The final speaker in this year's "Hear Who's Here" series, which
showcases the journeys and favorite career highlights of Chagrin Falls
area professionals. These fascinating talks take place on the first
Wednesday of each month at 7 PM.

*Cinda Williams Chima's*/Heir Chronicles/ and /Seven Realms/ series are
New York Times bestsellers. /The Heir Chronicles/ is a young adult
contemporary fantasy series set in Ohio, and the /Seven Realms/ series
is, of course, set in the long ago and far away Seven Realms. So far,
all of her novels have involved wizards behaving badly. Chima's books
have also received starred reviews in Kirkus Reviews and Voice of Youth
Advocates (VOYA), among others. Her books have been named Book Sense and
Indie Next List picks, an International Reading Association Young Adult
Choice, a New York Public Library Book for the Teen Age, to the Kirkus
Reviews Best Young Adult list, and the VOYA Editors' Choice, Best
Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror, and Perfect Tens lists. Her books
also appear on numerous state awards lists. /The Exiled Queen/ is the
2011 Teen Buckeye Book Award winner. Chima was a recipient of the 2008
Lit Award for Fiction from The LIT: Cleveland's Literary Center and was
named among Cleveland Magazine's Most Interesting People of 2009. And,
she is always working on her next novel. As part of her Hear Who's Here
presentation called "Magic on the Page: Writing and Publishing Teen
Fantasy Fiction," Chima will discuss her journey from first grade
failure to best-selling novelist and she will have books available for
signing and purchase.
