Before On GoldenPond became the movie with which many people are familiar, it was asuccessful Broadway play which has been produced in more than 40 countries in27 languages. 

On Golden Pond is a touching, warm and witty comedy that takes plan over one summer and explores the often turbulentrelationship a young woman shared with her father growing up, and thedifficulties of an aging couple facing what might be their final visit to the cottage they've cherishedfor nearly 50 years. Norman is irascible and preoccupied with dying and afailing memory while Ethyl is firmly grounded and long suffering. Their idyllicsurroundings are interrupted by a visit from their estranged daughter, herfiancé and his teenage son, who is dropped off for the summer. The old man andthe kid grudgingly move toward a trusted camaraderie. Through this relationshipNorman learns, belatedly, how to be a father to his daughter. As the summerwanes there are a couple crises that brings everyone to the realization thatlife is a precious thing and to a happy, but tear-jerking ending.
