[NEohioPAL] Jazz under the Stars- Shinizyn: Flute and Guitar Jazz

The summer continues to sizzle as ORMACO (Ohio Regional Music Arts and
Cultural Outreach) brings Shinizyn, a unique blend of flute and jazz to
Medina’s Uptown Park on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 7pm for the third Jazz
under the Stars concert.



Barbara O’Brien, principal flutist of the Pittsburgh Opera, the Wheeling
Symphony, the Renaissance City Winds, the Akron Symphony and second flutist
with The Pittsburgh Ballet Orchestra comprises half of this talented duo.
Barbara

has performed in several festivals, chamber music recitals and solo
recitals in the United States and Europe. While in her hometown of
Pittsburgh, she teaches privately at the high school and college level.



Pittsburgh based guitarist, composer, banjoist John Marcinizyn performs
frequently as a soloist, guitar duo, flute and guitar duo, voice and guitar
duo, violin and guitar duo, and in groups ranging from The Bach Choir of
Pittsburgh to his bands: Acoustic Swing (jazz trio), The Soul Shakers
(jazz, funk, rock, R&B) and The Red Hot Ramblers (Dixieland jazz). His
versatility as an acoustic and electric guitarist allows him to perform in
many styles including classical, jazz, flamenco, rock, blues, and folk.
John has also performed guitar and banjo for many theater companies
including Quantum Theatre, where he wrote and performed a flamenco score
for *The Red Shoes* and a Blues score for *El Paso Blue*.



Jazz under the Stars in brought to the community, in part, by The Medina
County Community Fund, Akron General Hospital, Medina Family Dentistry,
Sandridge Foods and Marie Mirro Edmonds Co. LPA. In addition to the music,
Michelle’s Place will be serving ribs, coleslaw and baked beans. To place
