[NEohioPAL] Audition notice for The Bacchae at The University of Akron

*The University of Akron School of Dance, Theatre, and Arts Administration
announces auditions for the upcoming presentation of The Bacchae.*

WHO:    Needed 6-8 men and 6-10 women.  Looking for actors, dancers,
singers, and    several performers (especially women) with specific skills:
Butoh, Indian dance, African dance, blues, jazz, and opera singers, circus
performers, acrobats and   aerialists, or any other   special skill. Please
dress to move and be prepared to stay for ensemble work.



WHAT:   Please prepare a 2 minute demonstration of a skill that you possess:
monologue, song, dance, lip-synching, yodeling, instrument playing, ranting
or raving—anything goes!



WHERE: In Guzzetta Hall, Studio 194, on The University of Akron campus.



WHEN:  7-9pm, Monday, September 17, 2012

5-7pm, Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Wednesday, September 19, Possible Callbacks, TBA



Auditions for THE BACCHAE 2012, a communion rite, based on the play by
Euripides and Charles Mee’s adaptation (The Bacchae 2.1), and directed by
UA theatre professor James Slowiak (Akron Area Arts Alliance 2011
Outstanding Artist in Theatre).



Rehearsals will begin Sunday, September 23 at 7pm.  Rehearsals will be
Sunday-Thursday from 7-11pm.



THE BACCHAE 2012 opens November 1.. Performances are November 1-4 and 8-10
in Sandefur Theatre.
