SCENIC DESIGNER/TECHNICAL DIRECTOR SEARCH

SOLON CENTER FOR THE ARTS

SPOTLIGHT YOUTH THEATER

SEPTEMBER 5, 2012



Solon Center for the Arts is now accepting applications for a Scenic
Designer/Technical Director for its upcoming Spotlight Youth Theater
production of *The Music Man, Jr. *presented October 25 through 28. This is
a contract position compensated through a stipend. The applicant will be an
independent contractor and not an employee of the City of Solon or Solon
Center for the Arts.



Qualified Applicants must have at least three years of experience in set
design, construction and working knowledge of theatrical lighting and sound
systems. Applicants with a Bachelor or Graduate degree in Theater are a
plus.



Responsibilities include set design and construction as well as
coordination of all technical elements for the Center's *Spotlight Youth
Theater production The Music Man, Jr*. Applicant must be available weekday
mornings/afternoons for set construction, October 8 - 19; evening technical
rehearsals, October 22 - 24, 2012 and all performances, October 25 - 28,
2012.

This is an independent contractor position. The individual will not
become an employee of the City of Solon or Solon Center for the Arts. This
position is not covered by liability insurance, health insurance or
retirement. Independent contractors are responsible for obtaining their own
liability insurance if desired.
