*Will Rogers’ U.S.A.* 10/4 -- 10/28

(No performance October 19)

*“I never met a man I didn’t like.” *

Will Rogers entertained New York audiences with his cowboy trick roping in
the Ziegfield Follies. While performing he began commenting on the news of
the day. He went on to become a journalist, humorist, and the highest paid
film star of his time. Poking fun at politicians, corset makers, and
government programs, he kept the nation smiling from the roaring 20’s
through the depths of the depression. Neil Thackaberry, having recovered
from last season’s *Bully, *recreates one of Will Rogers’ hilarious
“lectures”.

* Fiction                        *1/17 – 2/3, 2013

 By Steven Dietz

Linda and her husband Michael are both successful writers and sharp-tongued
intellectuals. From their first meeting at a Parisian cafe, it’s clear that
these two are brought together by their passion for life, literature, and
the artfully turned phrase. What happens when, under extraordinary
circumstances, they read each other’s journals? What is truth?

“Fiction keeps the audience on its toes. It’s quick, full of literary
allusions and memorable one-liners. The play allows the audience to keep on
questioning what is real and what is imagined.” Claire Canavan,
American-Statesman.

“The play kicks off at a high level and maintains that level to the very
end. . . truthful and often very funny.” Michael Margolin, Encore

*Freud’s Last Session* 2/21 – 3/10, 2013

By Mark St. Germain

Imagine a London meeting of the father of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud and
the author of the *Chronicles of Narnia*, C.S. Lewis. What ensues is not
only a battle of intellect and belief, but high drama, comic relief, and
insights into both of these cultural giants. The fact that the meeting
takes place on the day England enters WWII only adds to the tension

“It’s – Yes! – Entertaining! . . . The two men spar with increasing respect
for one another in a particularly credible and appealing fashion. . . . The
script brings the protagonists to life peppering the stage with nuanced
moments of acknowledgment and recognition.” Alex Cohen, Playing Around

“Freud's Last Session is spirited, witty, and eminently engaging, no matter
your extracurricular interests. Freud and Lewis clash about the existence
of God, love, sex and the meaning of life.” Melissa Rose Bernardo, Stage

Henley, Lameece Issaq, Claire LaZebnik, Lisa Loomer, Michele Lowe, Marco
Pennette, Theresa Rebeck, Luanne Rice, Annie Weisman and Cheryl L. West

contemporary playwrights includes Beth Henley and Theresa Rebeck. The
piece is beautifully varied and paced, with the seemingly random episodes
packed with resonance.

“An evening of poignant humor, thoughtful insights and true
theatricality.” Stewart Lewis, *CBS*<http://motherhoodoutloud.com/press.html>
* Radio*

“*Motherhood Out Loud* never fails to strike both the funny bone
and the heart.” Suzy Evans, *Backstage.com*

“An evening filled with wit, humor, pathos and enlightenment.
Heartfelt and true to life.” Audrey Linden, *Examiner*

*Manning Up* 5/16 – 6/2 *WORLD PREMIERE!*

By Sean Lewis

Two men are hunkered down in their basement man cave. Their wives are both
expecting and are due at any minute. Fearing that they may be becoming too
sensitive they prepare for a seminar (manimar) by practicing their tales of
manliness and rehearsing their primal screams. Unfortunately, one of their
wives goes into labor while on a shopping trip and they discover that
they’ve locked themselves into the basement. Lots of laughs and male
bonding.
