The Hudson Players are holding auditions for Agatha Christie's classic "The
Mousetrap" currently celebrating its 60th anniversary, on Monday September
10 at 7 p.m. at the Barlow Community Center at 41 S. Oviatt St in Hudson.
All roles are available with interested crew and production team members
(publicity, set, props, costumes, sound, lights, etc) also being sought.
Auditions are open to all with no restrictions. Those auditioning will be
asked to read from the script. More information is available at
www.hudsonplayers.com <http://www.hudsonplayers.com/> , by emailing
info at hudsonplayers.com or by calling 330-655-8522. Perusal scripts are also
available at the Hudson Library.

"The Mousetrap," opens the long running community theater troupe's 68th
Season. With performances scheduled for November 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 & 17 the
mystery, which currently holds the record for the longest running play in
history, will be directed by Claudia Lillibridge. Roles are available for 5
men and 3 women.

The Mousetrap opened in the
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_End_of_London> West End of London in
1952, and has been running continuously since then. It has the longest
initial run of any play in history, with over 24,500 performances so far. It
is the longest running show (of any type) of the modern era and has just
celebrated it's 60th anniversary with a production on every continent. The
play had its origins in the real-life case of the death of a boy,
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dennis_O%27Neill_case> Dennis O'Neill, who
died while in the <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foster_care> foster care of
a <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shropshire> Shropshire farmer and his wife
in 1945, which was made into a radio play called "Three Blind Mice." The
story of "The Mousetrap" involves a group of strangers who are stranded at a
boarding house during a snow storm, one of whom is a murderer. The suspects
include the newly married couple who run the home, a spinster with a curious
background, an architect who seems better equipped to be a chef, a retired
army major, a strange little man who claims his car has just overturned in a
snowdrift and a jurist who makes life miserable for everyone. All with a
famous Agatha Christie ending!

The Hudson Players are an all volunteer non-profit community theater
organization and one of the longest running theater troupes in the area.
Volunteers are always welcome to assist with a variety of tasks including
publicity, poster distribution, set building, costumes and more. Auditions
to their shows are open to all with no restrictions. Additional information
is available at www.hudsonplayers.com <http://www.hudsonplayers.com/> , by
emailing info at hudsonplayers.com or by calling 330-655-8522.
