10 Week Physical Training Laboratory for Actors


Akron, OH—The Center for Applied Theatre and Active Culture (CATAC) and New World Performance Laboratory (NWPL) present “Physical training for the actor.”  In a ten week program led by NWPL co-artistic director Jairo Cuesta, participants will explore a variety of physical techniques that the actor needs to have at his/her disposal for work on the stage: breath, stamina, body techniques, games, pre-acrobatics, contact improvisation, voice, etc.



The weekly sessions will take place on Monday evenings from September 17 through November 19, 7pm-8:30pm, at The Balch Street Theatre, 220 South Balch Street, Akron, OH  44302.  Cost is $10 for each session.  Discounts for students available.



These training sessions are open to actors of different experience and ages (18+) who are ready for a good workout.
