The commedia dell’arte troupe Faction of Fools will perform *Commedia Romeo
and Juliet* at The University of Akron’s (UA) Daum Theatre in Kolbe Hall on
Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

Earlier that day, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Faction of Fools will also present a
public workshop on the *commedia *style in the Albrecht Studio of Guzzetta
Hall, 139 Buchtel Ave. on the UA campus.

The performance and workshop are both free and open to the public as part
of UA’s annual Paul A. Daum Lecture Series. For more information, call (330)
972-7895.

*Faction of Fools is the recipient of the *2012 Helen Hayes Award for
Outstanding
Emerging Theatre Company. The Washington Post has described the
company as "cheerfully
rough-hewn with capering, rough-housing physicality".

*Romeo and Juliet*, the classic story of two young lovers divided by a
family feud, borrows heavily from the tradition of the Italian comedy.
Faction of Fool’s high-octane version, featuring five actors in a one-hour
cutting, brings spectacular physicality to Shakespeare's poetry and
highlights tragedy by juxtaposing it with humor.
