[NEohioPAL] YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU opens Friday at The Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County

NEW PHILADELPHIA Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County will open its 2012-13
season Oct. 5 with the comedy “You Can’t Take it With You.”

Little Theatre is at 466 Carrie Ave. NW.

The show, directed by Pat Potter and was written by Moss Hart and George S.
Kaufman, focuses on the Sycamore family, who get along well, but are viewed
by others as being a bit “mad.”

When daughter, Alice, brings her fiancé, Tony Kirby and his parents to the
house for dinner, everything goes awry, and the Kirbys refuse to agree to
the marriage.

Strange things seem to happen in the Sycamore household, and characters
drop in and stay for years. Eventually, everyone learns there is nothing
wrong with being different.

Featured players Patti Feller as Penny Sycamore and Steve Long as Grandpa
Vanderhof are reprising the roles they played in the 1992 production, also
directed by Potter.

Also in the cast are Kate Johnson, Amanda Larkin, Chad Roberts, David
Taylor, Michele Davis, Tom Morris, Josh Larkin, Scott Daniels, Linda
Hershberger-Kirk, Roxie Long, Shawn Clay, Dave Cleveland, Frank Huff,
Janice Cosenaza, Don Irvin, Michael Gray and Adam Quillen.

Members of the production staff are Lee Elliott, assistant director;
Melanie Slabaugh, production assistant; Lori Fantin, book assistant; Pam
Douglas, stage manager and props; Kenn Holmes, set design and construction;
Jane Deitrich, set decorator; Chad Roberts, lighting design; Dee Leidlein
and Alex Allesandre Bruce, costumes; and Debi DeVore, makeup and hairstyles.

“This is one to which you can bring the whole family, right down to the
grandchildren,” said Potter.

“You Can’t Take It With You” will be presented at 8 p.m. Fridays and
Saturdays, Oct. 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20, and at 2:30 p.m. Sundays, Oct.. 7
and 14. Tickets are $10. To reserve tickets, call the Little Theatre Box
Office at 330-343-4012. Box office hours are 7 9 p.m. Monday though
Saturday.
