*Ensemble Theatre presents “Heart & Music: A Celebration of Life and Loved
Ones Lost” a benefit concert for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS in
collaboration with Ensemble Theatre on Thursday, October 18th
Reception at 7pm, concert at 8pm.*

“Heart & Music” is a concert event in an intimate cabaret style starring
eight of Cleveland’s finest performers. Audiences can expect to hear songs
inspired by people who have passed away from HIV/AIDS as well as songs that
celebrate the best of the human spirit, encouraging everyone to embrace the
time we have together. The evening will feature musical theatre songs by
composers such as William Finn (“Falsettos”), Stephen Schwartz (“Wicked”),
Bill Russell (“Dreamgirls), Adam Guettel (“Light In The Piazza”), Stephen
Sondheim (“Sweeney Todd”), and others. “Heart & Music” is a companion
piece to Ensemble Theatre’s current production of “The Normal Heart” by
Larry Kramer.

The evening’s singers are local Equity actors Jessica L. Cope (Cain Park’s
“Pippin” and Great Lakes Theatre’s “Into The Woods), Sandra Emerick
(Porthouse Theatre’s “Bye Bye Birdie” and The Beck Center’s “Evita”), Sean
Szaller (Cain Park’s “Avenue Q”), and Matthew Wright (The Beck Center’s
“Urinetown” and Great Lakes Theatre’s “The Mystery Of Edwin Drood).
Non-Equity actors featured are Jason Elliott Brown (National Tours of “The
Pajama Game” and “Spamalot”), Hester Lewellen (The Beck Center’s “Bloody
Bloody Andrew Jackson”), Joanna May Hunkins (Cain Park’s “Avenue Q” and The
Beck Center’s “Jerry Springer The Opera”), and Geoff Short (Near West
Theatre’s “Ragtime”). Music Direction is by Sara Smith.

“Heart & Music” is a one night only event to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity
Fights AIDS and Ensemble Theatre on Thursday, October 18th. A reception
with wine and light appetizers will begin at 7pm, followed by a full
concert at 8pm. Tickets are $30 each or 2 for $50. Ensemble Theatre is
