Independence Community Theatre is thrilled to present Godspell, one of the biggest off-Broadway and Broadway successes of all time. 
 
Directed by Jennifer Sindyla,Godspellreturns to the Independence stage after almost 13 years. Now, Sindyla, along with Musical Director Gail Wirickand Choreographer Debbie Conway are excited to put onsuch an expressive, inspiring, and entertaining show.
 
Brief Synopsis:
Conceived and originally directed by John Michael Tebelak, Godspelloffers music and new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. It is based primarily on the Gospel According to St. Matthew, retelling the parables of Jesus Christ and the story of Jesus' final moments. Featuring a sparkling, seminal score by Stephen Schwartz, Godspellboasts a string of recognizable songs, led by the international hit, "Day By Day." The show’s comically improvisational style makes it enjoyable for everyone.
 
Performances are Fridays & Saturdays, November 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, and 17 at 8pm, and Sunday Nov. 11 at 2pm. Show tickets are $12. For tickets or more information call 216-447-0443. 
 
Sindyla has both directed and performed in Independence over the past decade. Most recently, she appeared in Nunset Boulevardas Sister Robert Anne this past spring. Wirick is also no stranger to Independence Community Theatre, as she has been the musical director for several shows, including the NunsenseSeries.  Conway is a dance instructor for O’Connor Dance Studio making her debut with Independence Community Theatre.

In bringing to life the parables of Jesus Christ, the cast makes its way through "Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord," "Save The People," "Learn Your Lessons Well," "Bless the Lord," "All For The Best," "All Good Gifts," "Turn Back, O Man" and "By My Side". The show also touchingly presents the story of Jesus' last moments beginning with the Last Supper. The main story of Godspellis portrayed in the show's subtext--in the way the players interact with their leader, coming together to create a loving community.
