Forced sterilization, euthanasia, and an idealized vision for the future

violated the rights of some of our society's more unfortunate citizens.

Trouble in Mind
Written by Alice Childress
Directed by Michael Oatman
Making its stage debut in 1955, Trouble in Mind is a race-relations
dramedy
that very nearly made Alice Childress the first black woman playwright

psychological
pressures a mixed-race troupe of actors face while prepping a
well-meaning but
visibly stereotyped anti-lynching melodrama for its Broadway debut.
