In the sweltering heat of Louisiana, Oya dreams of competing alongside star
athletes. She never feels so right as when she's burning up the track. As a
girl, she must choose between her dream and caring for her mother. As a
woman, she's torn between the man she lives with and the man she can't live
without.

the Red and Brown Water". 

 

Part of The Brother/Sister Plays, "In the Red and Brown Water" is set in
present day San Pere, Louisiana, and follows the struggle a gifted runner.
Directed by Professor Holly Holsinger, this will be a full collaboration
between the Cleveland State University Theatre and Dance programs.

 

The piece is "written in a spare, muscular language, packed with sly
theatricality and metaphors hidden in plain sight." -
