2013 Cleveland Asian Festival: A Cultural Event for All

(Cleveland, Ohio) Celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month by joining
thousands of people from across the state of Ohio at the 4th Annual
Cleveland Asian Festival (CAF) on Saturday, May 18th and Sunday, May 19th,
2013.

There is something for everyone - from food, to shopping, to non-stop
entertainment- and best of all, the Festival is Free.

The Northeast Ohio Asian community is once again hosting a "can't miss"
weekend, May 18th and 19th from 11am to 7pm (both days). Local and National
performing artists perform throughout the two-day festival, which happens
the third weekend of May rain or shine.

In 2010, the inaugural year, Cleveland Scene Magazine praised CAF as the
"Best New Ethnic Festival". In 2011 and 2012 the festival drew over 31,000
and 42,000 attendees, respectively, and is bound to attract even more
attention this spring. The festival also received numerous awards while
considered as the most organized and fastest growing festival in Northeast
Ohio.

CAF features two outdoor stages where local musicians and renowned national
performers draw crowds throughout the two-day Festival. Crowd favorites
returning this year include the Lion and Dragon dances, Martial Arts
demonstrations, a traditional Asian Fashion runway show, Taiko Drums, and
many others. Last year, Instant Noodles, a top five finalist on MTV's
America's Best Dance Crew performed live both days. This year's headliner
has not yet been released to the public but is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

Authentic foods from multiple Asian and Pacific-Island countries are offered
in the festival food court from start to close at tents run by local small
businesses. Sample food from over a dozen cultures including Japanese, Thai,
Korean, Chinese, Himalayan/Nepalese , Cambodian, Philippines, Northern
India, and many other countries. It's a once-in-a-year chance to take your
taste buds on a tour of ethnic food and drinks, all in one location.

After your feast, take a stroll around the World Market, a pop-up
marketplace where diverse wares from handmade clothing to household goods
are offered. The marketplace houses over 100 vendors, social service
agencies as well as informational and cultural exhibitors.

Free health screenings are back by popular demand, inside the Asia Plaza.
Physicians from the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, MetroHealth, and
St. Vincent Charity Medical Center are happy to meet with festival
attendees. Screenings including blood-pressure, bone density, cholesterol,
and glucose will be provided free of charge.

Endless activities await you at the 2013 Cleveland Asian Festival. Festival
goers can also take advantages of several free parking lots in the AsiaTown
neighborhood and at nearby Cleveland State University (East 24th and Payne).
Free shuttle service provided from designated lots.
