Join us Thursday evenings for our Art Film series at the Canton Palace Theatre. All show times are at 7:30pm, doors open at 7:00pm, and admission is $5. Avoid the long drive to Cleveland to see unique and interesting films, and spend an evening in our historic theatre in the heart of the downtown Canton Arts District.

March 21 - "Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home"

With strikingly honest interviews and rare footage demonstrating the emotional lives and intense family bonds of animals most often viewed as living commodities, this groundbreaking documentary shatters stereotypical notions of farmers, farm life, and perhaps most surprisingly, farm animals themselves.

Sponsored by The Vegetarian Club of Canton: www.vegetarianclubofcanton.org

March 28 - "Hitchcock"

A love story between influential filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock and wife Alma Reville during the filming of "Psycho" in 1959.

April 4 - "The Impossible"

An account of a family caught, with tens of thousands of strangers, in the mayhem of one of the worst natural catastrophes of our time.

April 11 - "A Royal Affair"

A young queen, who is married to an insane king, falls secretly in love with her physician - and together they start a revolution that changes a nation forever.

April 25 - "No"

Military dictator Augusto Pinochet calls for a referendum to decide his permanence in power in 1988, the leaders of the opposition persuade a young daring advertising executive - René Saavedra - to head their campaign. With limited resources and under the constant scrutiny of the despot's watchmen, Saavedra and his team conceive of a bold plan to win the election and free their country from oppression.

May 2 - "Quartet"

Cecily, Reggie, and Wilfred are in a home for retired musicians. Every year, on October 10, there is a concert to celebrate Verdi's birthday and they take part. Jean, who used to be married to Reggie, arrives at the home and disrupts their equilibrium. She still acts like a diva, but she refuses to sing. Still, the show must go on... and it does.
