For immediate release: Doctor Dolittle, a New Musical!

Hugh Lofting’s beloved Doctor Dolittle and all his animal friends arrive 
on stage March 21 - 23, 2013 at Miller South School for the Visual & 
Performing Arts. Based on Lofting’s children stories and the 20th 
Century Fox film starring Rex Harrison and Anthony Newley, “Doctor 
Dolittle, a New Musical” retains all the delightful music from the movie 
version, with book, music and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse.

Featuring a cast of 50+ actors, singers and dancers and an all-student 
tech crew, this production follows the doctor on his adventures from 
Puddleby-on-the Marsh to Blossom’s Circus, then aboard the eccentric 
ship called the Flounder to Sea Star Island where he meets the elusive 
Giant Pink Sea Snail and flies back to Puddleby on a Giant Lunar Moth.

"Doctor Dolittle" is directed and designed by Wendy S. Duke, with 
choreography by Sarah Christman, music direction by Sarah Kaufman, 
costumes by Marlene Thornton and technical direction by Tim “Buffo” Shuff.

Performances will take place on Thursday, March 21 at 7 pm, Friday, 
March 22 at 9 am, and two shows on Saturday, March 23 at 1 PM and 7 PM.

Tickets are $10 for reserved orchestra seating, with general admission 
seats available for adults $7 and $5 for students and senior citizens.
