[NEohioPAL] Group swing dance classes start this Monday and Tuesday! Just show up to class and we will get you registered! No need for a dance partner!

5 Week Group Classes in Beginner & Intermediate Jitterbug and Intermediate Lindy & Balboa

All classes are $50 per person or $80 per couple (one leader and one follower) for the complete 5 week session.

BEGINNING JITTERBUG classes are from 7pm-8pm on 5 consecutive Mondays starting APRIL 15th until MAY 13th. 

Please join us and learn the easiest form of partnered dancing--The Jitterbug! You will learn several basic footwork patterns and how to lead and follow a fun mix of spins and turns in open and closed position. There are many opportunities in the Cleveland area to go out and dance to live music. Learning to swing dance is a great way to get involved, meet people, and get some exercise too!

This class is appropriate for students 10 years old and up. 

INTERMEDIATE JITTERBUG classes are from 8pm-9pm on 5 consecutive Mondays starting APRIL 15th until MAY 13th. 

If you can do the triple step basic and turn or be turned while holding down a simple conversation-Congratulations you have just been promoted to intermediate level Jitterbug! In this class you will learn some really eye catching moves, turns, and footwork variations. 

This series will have a special emphasis on rhythms, musicality and styling.

This class is appropriate for students 10 years old and up. 

Monday night classes will be taught by Valerie Salstrom and Scott Wenning!

INTERMEDIATE LINDY classes are from 7pm-8pm on 5 consecutive Tuesdays starting APRIL 16th until MAY 14th. 

Lindy Hop is the original form of swing dancing that originated in the ballrooms of Harlem, NY in the late 1920s/early 1930s. In this 5 week session we will be covering more complicated concepts, moves, footwork variations and styles inspired by the Savoy style dancers and the Hollywood style dancers of the 1930s and 1940s. 

This series will have a special emphasis on rhythms, musicality and styling.

You MUST have knowledge of the basics of Lindy to take this class.

This class is appropriate for students 10 years old and up. 

INTERMEDIATE BALBOA & BAL-SWING classes are from 8pm-9pm on 5 consecutive Tuesdays starting APRIL 16th until MAY 14th. 

Balboa and Bal-Swing are dances that originated in the crowded ballrooms of Southern California and were most popular in the mid 1930s. The Balboa is most loved for its fancy foot work, finesse, subtleties, and ability to be done quite easily at fast tempos. The Balboa is done with a closer torso to torso type connection and is the perfect dance for working on leading and following. Bal-Swing; with its open connection, was developed when the Balboa and California swing styles were combined. 

You must know the basics of Balboa to take this class. This class is a must for those dancers attending the All Balboa Weekend www.AllBalboa.com

This class is appropriate for students 16 years old and up. 

Tuesday night classes will be taught by Valerie Salstrom and Corey Flowers!

We rotate partners in all of our classes to help you develop your lead and follow skills rather than just memorizing moves. This greatly improves your technique and makes going out to all of the social dances much more fun. The teachers also dance in the rotation so you will get personalized feedback several times during each lesson. If you and your partner would rather not rotate that is allowed but not encouraged.
