*Rutter Requiem at Church of the Saviour*

*SUNDAY, APRIL 28, 2:30 p.m. SANCTUARY*

Arts in the Cathedral is pleased to announce a FREE concert on Sunday,
April 28 at 2:30 p.m. at Church of the Saviour in Cleveland Heights. The
annual Members and Friends Art Show will also be on display before and
after the concert.

The featured work is John Rutter’s *Requiem*. Written in memory of his
father, Rutter intended this work to bring a message of hope and faith to
all. He re-invented the traditional Requiem by eliminating the *Day of Wrath
* texts, adding selected readings of comfort from the *Anglican Book of
Prayer,* and including a beautiful setting of Psalm 23 “The Lord is My
Shepherd.”

The *Requiem* will be performed by the Chancel Choir with Megan
Jones-Turner as the soprano soloist. Judith Higbee, Director of Music
conducts with organist Bob Day at the console. Other members of the chamber
orchestra for this work are Virginia Steiger, flute; Cynthia Watson Sperl,
oboe, Jody Guinn, harp; Austin Strelau and Tim Strelau, percussion; and
Derek Snyder, ‘cello.

The concert also includes music performed by several other Church of the
Saviour choirs including VIVACE, Agape Choir, Bells of the Saviour and GOOD
NEWS.

Church of the Saviour is located at 2537 Lee Road in Cleveland Heights, one
block north of Fairmount Blvd. The church has free parking and is
handicapped-accessible. For more information please call the church office
