*Assistant Technical Director*

Cleveland Play House (LORT B), America’s first regional theatre, seeks an
ATD to support eight-show mainstage season, children’s tour, and two MFA
Acting Program shows. The ATD will assist the TD in all aspects of stage
production. Primary responsibilities include drafting of construction
drawings, tracking and maintaining budgets and inventories, ordering
materials, tools and supplies, and researching materials. The ATD also
takes the lead in the construction and installation of the children’s tour
and MFA shows. Qualified candidates will have a working knowledge of stage
carpentry and rigging and 1-3 years professional experience, preferably in
regional theatre. Purchasing and budget tracking experience a plus. Position
requires strong communication, organizational and planning skills.
Experience with AutoCAD or VectorWorks plus MS Office required.  Valid
driver’s license and clean DMV record required. Must be able to work at
heights and to lift up to 50 lbs. Position is Seasonal Full-time, eligible

*Scene Shop Foreman*

Cleveland Play House (LORT B), America’s first regional theatre, seeks
Scene Shop Foreman to support eight-show mainstage season. Qualified
candidates will have strong leadership and communication skills, be able to
read and understand blueprints, and have a thorough knowledge of scenic
construction techniques and materials. This position also requires a
working knowledge of welding, pneumatics, hydraulics, motion control, and
rigging. Shop Foreman works closely with the TD and ATD to ensure the
timely construction of scenery of the highest quality, supervising a crew
of four IATSE shop carpenters and additional overhire crews during load-ins
and strikes.  Shop Foreman helps maintain a safe and healthy work
environment by following and enforcing company safety policies and
procedures.  Position is Seasonal Full-time.  Engagement starts September
3, 2013 (24-30 weeks).  Employee is required to be a member of I.A.T.S.E.

Scenic Carpenters.  Knowledge of scenic construction techniques and rigging
is required, as is ability to read blueprints and follow instructions.  Must
be able to work as a member of a team but also to take on individual
projects and implement them to completion.  Able to lift at least 50 lbs
and to work from ladders and personnel lifts.  Welding a plus.  Position is
Seasonal Full-time.  Engagement starts September 3, 2013 (24-30 weeks).

all aspects of building and procuring props, with an emphasis in
crafts.  Experience
with Photoshop helpful.  Qualified candidate will be a team player and be
able to work closely with designers and co-workers.  Minimum 1-3 years
professional experience, preferably in regional theatre.  Valid driver’s
license, ability to work at heights and to lift up to 40 lbs. Position is

Properties
Carpenter to support eight-show mainstage season, school tour, and two MFA
Acting Program shows. Applicants should have 1-3 years of professional
experience, preferably in regional theatre. Detailed knowledge of advanced
woodworking required.  Some metal working and welding. Working knowledge of
mechanics a plus.  Must be able to plan projects and work independently,
have good organizational and communication skills, and be able to assist
the Properties Master with general props craftwork.  Props Carpenter is
primarily responsible for construction of furniture and large props. Also
maintains shop tools and equipment as well as hardware, lumber and metal
inventories. Valid driver’s license, able to work at heights and to lift up
to 50 lbs.  Position is Seasonal Full-time, eligible for benefits.  Engagement
