On Tuesday, August 20th @ 7pm, the Beachwood Branch of the Cuyahoga County
Library will be holding a performance of the solo show "Each at his Forge,"
written and performed by Keith Foster. Following the performance, there
will be a talkback. This event is a free workshop, and the audience's
responses both during the show and the talkback will help to inform the
evolution of the piece.

The piece explores the economic difficulties facing Detroit, as one actor
portrays nine different characters, testing the balance between a city's
money and a city's soul.

Plot Synopsis: Successful painter Abe Idelson received a commission from
the Detroit Insitute of the Arts for a series of portraits focusing on the
the Emergency Manager's option to help decrease the city's debt. The
subjects of his paintings reveal a spectrum of opinions on the debate
raging between city, citizen and museum. With each portrait and story, Abe
realizes his failure to achieve his own ideas and how he is complicit in
the degradation of the Public Trust.

The piece has received two prior workshops at earlier stages of
development, both in Marietta, OH. This will be the first advertised public
performance of the piece, and the first performance in NE Ohio. It will be
fully produced in the spring of 2014 at Marietta College.
