Work Environment:

Dobama Theatre, established in 1959, is a professional theatre in Cleveland
Heights, OH whose mission is to produce Cleveland, regional, and world
premieres of the best contemporary plays by established and emerging
playwrights in professional productions of the highest quality. Through
educational and outreach programming, Dobama Theatre nurtures the
development of theatre artists and builds new audiences for the arts while
provoking an examination of our contemporary world.

 

Job Description:

Dobama Theatre has an immediate opening for an experienced Part-Time
Director of Development. This individual will assist in all aspects of
Annual Fund development, and reports to the Managing Director. The Director
of Development will be responsible for assisting the Managing Director in
working to develop funds and reaching audiences.

Job duties include, but are not limited to, fundraising, grant writing,
implementation of the annual Development Plan, managing the development
database, generating appeal letters and coordinating mailings, applying
donor relations strategies, coordinating correspondence with donors, and
assisting with and attending fundraising events.

We are seeking an individual with excellent organizational skills and a love
of the arts, with at least three years' experience in fund development,
preferably in a nonprofit arts organization. The successful candidate will
possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under
pressure with limited financial and human resources is essential as is a
good sense of humor. Must possess both a self-generating work ethic and
superlative team playing skills. 


Qualifications:

We prefer candidates with at least 3 years' experience in fundraising and
development in the nonprofit arts sector. Bachelor's degree required,
Master's degree preferred. The successful candidate will have strong
interpersonal, organization, and computer skills (Microsoft Office and
Social Media required; experience with a CRM preferred). 

20-25 hours/week. 

Compensation is commensurate with experience. Salary: $12,000-$15,000.
