Heights Youth Theatre Announces Auditions for

*ROALD DAHL'S WILLY WONKA*

directed & choreographed by Pierre-Jacques Brault & musical directed by
Joanna Li

*Auditions open to anyone in grades 1-12**:*

*Monday, August 26* – open call beginning at 5:00 pm, must be there by 8 pm
to be seen

*Tuesday, August 27 *– open call beginning at 5:00 pm, must be there by 8
pm to be seen

*Please note:  If you are not available to audition on either of these
dates please e-mail heightsyouththeatre at gmail.com*

*Callbacks** – *by invitation only on Thursday, August 29

*Location for auditions and callbacks:* Grace Lutheran Church, 13001 Cedar
Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio 44118

*Casting Information:*  All roles are available. HYT is committed to
non-traditional casting.  Actors will be cast solely on the basis of
talent, except in cases where age, race or physical ability is essential to
a role.

*WHAT TO PREPARE:*

*Grades 6-12*

   1. One selection in the style of the show up to a minute in length (ie-
   one verse and one chorus).
   2. Accompanist provided (no acapella singing) Bring complete sheet music.
   3. Come prepared to move.

*Grades 1-5*

   1. Please learn the following lyrics from *The Candy Man* (we will help
   you practice a little before you sing alone)

*Willy Wonka makes*

*Everything he bakes*

*Satisfying and delicious*

*Talk about your childhood wishes*

*You can even eat the dishes
*

   1. Come prepared to move.

*Everyone please bring headshot or photo (resume optional) and fill out
audition form, found on the website, prior to **coming to audition.*

*Rehearsals begin: * Tuesday, September 3rd.  Rehearsals will be Mon-Fri,
4:30-8:30pm. You will not be called every day, only when you are needed to
work. Attendance at ALL tech week rehearsals as well as all performances is
mandatory.

*Production Dates**:*

   - Friday, October 25 and November 1, 7 PM
   - Saturday, October 19 and November 2, 2 PM
   - Sunday, October 20, 27, and November 3, 2 PM

*About the show:*

*ROALD DAHL*'s deliciously dark tale of young *Charlie Bucket* and the
mysterious confectioner *Willy Wonka* comes to life in a brand new musical.

When *Charlie* wins a golden ticket to the weird and wonderful Wonka
Chocolate Factory, it's the chance of a lifetime to feast on the sweets
he's always dreamed of. But beyond the gates astonishment awaits, as down
the sugary corridors and amongst the incredible edible delights, the five
lucky winners discover not everything is as sweet as it seems. A chocolate
garden, an army of squirrels and the curiously peculiar
*Oompa-Loompas*must be believed to be seen in this spectacular new
musical that is
choc-full of fantastical treats to dazzle your senses.
