*Ensemble Belvedere Presents All-Baroque Program for Opening Event of
Church of the Saviour’s “Arts in the Cathedral” Series on October 6*

* *

*Cleveland Heights, OH--The Cleveland-based early music group Ensemble
Belvedere will present a program of Baroque chamber music on Sunday,
October 6, 2 p.m. at Church of the Saviour, 2537 Lee Road in Cleveland
Heights. A free-will offering will be received. *
* *

* *
* *

*This program, entitled “Eloquence and Elegance: Chamber Music of the
Rococo,” will feature instrumental works of the early and mid-eighteenth
century or “rococo” period, and include sonatas by C.P.E. Bach, Franz
Benda, and J. J. Quantz.*
* *

* Church of the Saviour is located at 2537 Lee Road in Cleveland Hts., one
block north of Fairmount Blvd. The church is handicapped-accessible and
reachable via public transportation or private vehicle. Parking is free. *
* *

* The members of Ensemble Belvedere are Susan Shaw, baroque flute; Michael
Tweed-Kent, baroque cello; and Jason Aquila, harpsichord.*
* *

* Recently founded in early 2013 out of a strong sense of shared musical
values and a passion for baroque music, Ensemble Belvedere is dedicated to
bringing 18th-century chamber repertoire to life for audiences of all
backgrounds and walks of life. Programs often incorporate informal
discussions and encourage audience interaction, including questions about
the music and the instruments. *
* *

* By favoring smaller venues such as churches, galleries, and private homes
over large concert halls, Ensemble Belvedere aims to provide a "musical
frame" more in keeping with the salons and drawing rooms in which the music
was originally played and heard. In doing so the group’s performers hope to
both preserve the intimate and conversational nature of the chamber music
itself and enable modern audiences to better appreciate the delicate
dynamics and variety of tonal colors of the period instruments. *
