[NEohioPAL] High Energy Jump Blues/Rockabilly Band Playing for Swing Dance in Lakewood Friday, Oct 11th!

Please come and join us for a fun night of swing dancing to live music at the Lakewood Masonic Temple! This is the longest running swing dance in the Cleveland area. On average over 150 people of all ages and abilities attend this swing dance every month. 

The cost of the dance is $12 per person or $10 for students and seniors with a valid ID

Be sure to arrive in time to take part in the easy jitterbug lesson from 8pm to 9pm

Immediately after the lesson (at 9 PM) Keith Jones & The Makeshifts will kick off an awesome night of dancing and fun until 12am.

Keith Jones and The Makeshifts, out of Cincinnati, Ohio, are truly a throwback to the late 40's early 50's. Taking their inspiration from the early jump blues artists along with traditional rockabilly, they create a sound, that, while fresh, seems to channel these great decades of the past. The Makeshifts are influenced by greats such as Buddy Holly, and Elvis as well as Louis Jordan, Wynonie Harris and Big Joe Turner, to name a few.

The Makeshifts' songs are jam-packed with quick and creative guitar solos, soulful singing, swingin' bass walks and solid, thumping drum beats. Every song they play, while respectful to the original, is tweaked into the Makeshifts' style, which is full of spirit and spontaneity.

Everyone is welcome and there is no need to have previous dance experience or a dance partner.

Most people dress casually unless there is a special theme. The best shoes to wear are comfortable and not too sticky on the bottom.
