Dance Workshop at TrueNorth Cultural Arts

These four-day camps are
designed to further a dancer’s skill set in the areas of ballet, tap, and jazz
over four Saturdays this winter. The skills learned will be showcased in a
brief, informal recital format for a half hour on December 15, 2013. Campers
are encouraged to enroll in either the Intermediate or Advanced camps as a
whole, but are also able to take classes in specific styles of dance (if
they’re not interested in jazz, they can take only the ballet and tap, and so
forth). These classes will be intensive and very focused, enriching their dance
knowledge, ability to master choreography, and stage presence/performance
skills in an upbeat manner. 
Maggie has been dancing
through local studios, musical theatre, and master classes for over fifteen years.
She a sophomore, majoring in Directing in The Theatre School at DePaul
University; Maggie has been teaching dance and choreographing for recital and
musical theatre combinations for six years. Please contact Maggie with

Classes are to be eight to
fifteen dancers and registration is preferred by November 20, 2013. To register,

Intermediate: November 23, 30
and December 7, 14; 30 minute show on December 15 at 7:00pm.
Intermediate students
are dancers who have some experience, but less than three years of dance
classes or similar experience. They are ages ten to twenty, and desire to learn
skills beyond basics in ballet, tap, and jazz styles of dance. For four weeks
of all three classes, the cost is $125; four weeks of one style is $50. 
Ballet: 9am – 10am 
                                                                Tap:
10am – 11pm
                                                                Jazz:
11pm – 12pm  
Advanced: November 23, 30 and
December 7, 14; 30 minute show on December 14 at 7:00pm.
Advanced students are
dancers who have been taking dance classes for more than three years and want
to further their skills into the next level of dancing. Other dance experience
is also applicable. They are ages twelve or older, and have a passion for
ballet, tap, and jazz. For four weeks of all three classes, the cost is $125;
four weeks of one style is $50.

12:30pm – 2pm 
                                                                Tap:
2pm – 3:30pm 
                                                                Jazz:
3:30pm – 5pm
 
Required dancewear:
                Ballet – ballet
shoes, (preferably black) leotard, (preferably pink) dance tights, hair in bun.
                                Optional – dance skirt.
                Tap – tap
shoes, leotard, dance tights, ponytail.
                                Optional – tank top, dance shorts.
                Jazz – leotard,
dance tights, ponytail, footwear: jazz shoes, ballet shoes, foot paws, or
socks.
                                Optional – tank top, dance shorts,
capri-length jazz/yoga pants.
