I know most of us are looking for that big break that will launch our acting careers but at what cost?  Working in front of hot camera lights for 12 hours a day not including rehearsal time before the shoot is WORK, no matter if it's for a film or commercial.  However, SO MANY so-called film makers on this board offer you the roles and for all your hard work that some of you have gone to school for years for, you'll receive an IMDB credit and a copy of the film you worked on.  
 
Can we say "taking advantage of the actors"?  Don't you people understand that if we refuse these no-pay projects, then these pimps of film would have no choice but to PAY ACTORS FOR THEIR CRAFT?  I know you want a break but every time you take a no-pay role, you in turn set a bad example which in turn makes it hard if not impossible for actors trying to put food on their tables and pay their bills.
 
I'm not talking about films funded via colleges, but other so-called film makers are asking actors to work for free and if they want free actors then they should go hire their family members.  Don't be so desperate because the IMDB credit is no big deal to acquire and doesn't carry the clout it did many years ago.  In closing just remember, every time you take a no pay gig, you put the film making industry of Cleveland back to...THE DAYS OF SLAVERY!
