Come see “Hamlet/Hamlette: a Tragic Comedy In Two Acts”!

Revere Players is proud to present Hamlet on November 8, 9, and 10, 2013. The cast and crew of Revere High School’s fall production will take the stage to perform Shakespeare’s famous tragedy followed by a lighthearted comedic spoof written by Allison Williams.

Long ago in the country of Denmark, a troubled prince struggles to make peace with cruel twists of familial fate. Hamlet’s father, the king, dies under mysterious circumstances. Hamlet’s power-hungry uncle quickly makes a claim to the throne, and our tragic hero sets out to discover the truth behind his uncle’s unsettling actions. Fate refuses to cooperate with poor Hamlet as our players skillfully portray a gamut of emotions.

Meanwhile, fate takes a turn towards comedy for the motley crew of players left to perform “Hamlette.” Ill-prepared but ever-enthusiastic, hilarity ensues as a girl portrays the title character and chaos reigns beside the king. Their show might not be quite as accurate, but it is guaranteed to keep you laughing and on the edge of your seat!

On stage this year will be Audrey DeLong, Clarice Sigsworth, Oliver Zhang, Casey Amato, Leia, Gertz, Janos Jalics, David Speer, Emma Weihe, Ben Mullaly, Justin Evangelist, Timmy Oros, Abbey Niemi, Ashley Oakley, Amy Laferty, Sarah Blake, Kathryn Mason, Sia Konstantinopoulous, Griffen Hansen, Sahan Kiridena, Ben Lewis, Ted Hess, Dean Manning, Sam Fergason, Julie Mullet, Olivia Detzel, Megan Gilroy, Lucia Boulos, Caroline Godard, Noah Sigsworth, Russell Klein, Alex Isada, and Garrison Peters.

Directing this talented cast of 32 is Mrs. Rena Baker. Assisting Mrs. Baker are: Mrs. Laurie Russell, assistant director; Mr. Robert Pierson, artistic director; Mr. Darren LeBeau, technical director; and finally Miss Emma Weihe and Miss Abbey Ruggles, our production managers. Led by stage manager Jenny Smilan, our hard-working crew includes Aaron Stanley, Dale Kostar, Ileana Hernandez, Ethan Lockmiller, Katie Hanus, Sharon Caldwell, Tori Sobolewski, Anna Gamblin, Mark Jaras, Daniel Butera, Megan Shepker, Jamie McGregor, Will Ackerman, Katie Mehal, Abbey Ruggles, Amy Laferty, Joe Shepker, Kathyn Mason, Gina Ciolli, Amani Sanyurah, Angelique Morales, Evan Kamvouris, Emma Weihe, Mariam Boulos, Ben Lewis, Kathleen Wright, Susie Post, Aly Milks, Nicaela Shultz, Evie Solis, Tristen Jandrey, Noah Sigsworth, Mark Solis, and Megan Malyj.
