*THE PLAYERS GUILD ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR *
*SHREK THE MUSICAL*



The Players Guild Theatre announces upcoming auditions for their final
Mainstage production of the 2013-2014 season, SHREK THE MUSICAL, under the
direction of Jonathan Tisevich.



SHREK THE MUSICAL, based on the Oscar(R) winning DreamWorks film that started
it all, brings the hilarious story of everyone's favorite ogre to dazzling
new life on the stage.  In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get
ugly when an unseemly ogre shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a
donkey who won't shut up, a bad guy with a SHORT temper, a cookie with an
attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind
of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand...and his
name is Shrek.  A show full of all-new songs, big laughs, and great
dancing, SHREK THE MUSICAL is part romance, part twisted fairy tale and all
irreverent fun for everyone!



Auditions will be held at the Players Guild Theatre located in the Cultural
Center for the Arts, 1001 Market Ave N., on Monday, March 10 and Tuesday,
March 11 from 6:30 - 9:00 PM.  All roles are available.  Interested parties
should sign up for a time slot by leaving a message at the Players Guild
Theatre Box Office, 330.453.7617 or by filling out the available online
form at www.playersguildtheatre.com.  Those auditioning are asked to please
prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre song that best features their vocal
ability.

Additionally, actors are asked to bring a current headshot and resume (if
available) with them to their audition.



Dance callbacks will be held on Wednesday, March 12th and principal
callbacks will be held on Thursday, March 13th.



The production is scheduled to open on Friday, May 16, 2014 and will run
for three weekends through Sunday, June 1, with Friday evening performances
at 8:00pm and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm.  In addition, there
are two school matinee performances scheduled for Tuesday, May 20th and
Wednesday, May 21st, at 10:00 am.
