BRECKSVILLE LITTLE THEATRE will present playwright Herb Gardner’s hit comedy, “A Thousand Clowns,” opening on Friday, March 14 and continuing on Fridays and Saturdays through Saturday, March 29. Friday and Saturday performances are at 8 pm. There will be one 2 matinee performance on Sunday, March 23. Admission is $12.00 with reserved seating. A BOGO is offered on opening night, March 14 --- patrons purchasing one admission will receive a second admission free.
Filled with laughter and warmth and sweetness and inspired daffiness, this benchmark of Broadway comedy produced one of the theatre's most beloved roles: unconventional Murray, uncle to precocious nephew, Nick. An unemployed writer of children’s TV programs, Murray is raising his 12-year-old genius nephew in a carefree life style. It’s 1962 and well before dysfunctional families are the norm, so when New York Child Welfare Services comes to investigate, the ex-writer must decide whether to accept conformity in order to show himself a fit guardian. Should he find gainful employment or lose his nephew, or...marry the social worker?
Performances are in Brecksville’s Old Town Hall near the intersection of routes 21 and 82. Seats may be reserved by calling the box office, 440-526-4477. Produced by special arrangement with Samuel French. Inc.
