Press Release

Ohio City Theatre Project announces two weekends of performances of the
world premiere of Free Radical and The Late Night Sketchbook at Ohio City’s
historic landmark, Saint John’s Episcopal Church, onMay 8, 9, 10,and 15,
16, 17, of 2014.

Free Radical and The Late Night Sketchbook, conceived and directed by
Pandora Robertson, will be the result of almost two years of work which
began in workshop at Cleveland Public Theatre, and a creative residency
supported by the Launch Program at PlayhouseSquare. In creating Free
Radical and The Late Night Sketchbook, Robertson and an ensemble of seven
actors explore the concept of confession through carefully crafted movement
and emotionally charged narratives of life-altering events. This theatrical
piece poses questions, such as What is the boundary between what we think
is the truth and What do we want the truth to be?

What promises to be a visceral and profoundly affecting theatrical event
will take place in the historical and richly poetic architecture of Saint
John’s Parish Hall. Saint John’s, which was part of the Underground
Railroad, is the first consecrated ground in Cuyahoga County. The use of
this venue will be a win/win for Saint John’s and OCTP. This creative
occupancy will bring vitality and foot traffic to the underutilized
landmark in Ohio City, and at the same time will allow OCTP to present
exciting new work. OCTP is proud to be part of the comeback of Saint John’s.
